Notification Preferences

For external approval notifications, see Webhooks. Webhooks are independent of in-app and digest settings.

View and change your own notification preferences on your user profile (View User / Edit User).

Who can view or edit

  • You can view and edit your own preferences from View User / Edit User even without user-administration permission.
  • Nobody else can view or change another user's preferences in the product UI.
  • Creating a user does not set preferences in the UI; a user must then edit their own settings.

Required alerts

These always send and cannot be turned off:

Preference Notes
Approval required When an object is waiting for your approval.
Mentions in comments When someone @mentions your email in a comment.
Report packet ready or failed When a Reports Dashboard packet you requested finishes or fails.

Optional in-app alerts

Section Preference Notes
Collaboration Comment activity Thread comments when you are involved (not @mentions).
Workflow Workflow approval results When an object you submitted through a workflow is fully approved. Opt-in; default off. The final approver is not notified when they also submitted the workflow.
Access Role delegation updates Delegation started, cancelled, or ended.
Imports & ingestion Document ingestion results Documents you submitted finish processing or fail.
Vendors & spend Vendor insurance expiring Certificate of insurance nearing expiry.
Vendors & spend Purchase order ready to close Spend near the purchase order total.
Leases Lease expiration 9, 6, or 3 months from a lease end date, or recently expired. Opt-in; default off. One inbox item per window; marking it read does not send another until the next window.
Banking Bank connection re-authentication Linked bank reconnect or consent expiry.

Turning off an optional alert stops new inbox items of that type. It does not remove your ability to do the related work.

Digest email

A periodic email summary of workflow activity.

  • Receive digest email — turn the digest on or off.
  • Frequency (days) — how often Credence may send a digest (at least one day between sends).
  • Digest sections:
  • Pending approvals — Workflow steps currently waiting for your approval.
  • Recently approved — Objects you created, submitted, or first approved that recently received final approval.
  • On hold — Objects whose current workflow is on hold.

The in-app Workflow approval results alert and the Recently approved digest section can both cover an object you submitted. They are independent toggles: turning one off does not turn the other off.

When the digest is off, frequency and section choices do not apply. Digests send only when at least one enabled section has content for you.
