Financial Reports

Credence generates financial reports directly from your property ledgers in real time. Reports reflect posted entries and update as new activity is recorded.

Use the Reports Dashboard (Reports → Dashboard) to find and open reports. Core financial statements also remain available under Standard Reports in the sidebar.

Reports Dashboard

The dashboard groups reports into categories and shows only destinations you have permission to access. Use search to filter by report name or description.

Categories include:

  • Standard financial — Core GAAP statements for the selected properties and period
  • Operational financial — Specialty financial analysis beyond the standard statements
  • Development — Project cash flows, liquidity, and development budget analysis
  • Tenant — Rent roll, receivables, collections, and tenant insurance
  • Vendor — Payables, vendor insurance, vendor payments and 1099 review, and vendor contract details
  • Custom reports — Build a custom report or download a multi-report packet

Empty categories are hidden. Feature-flagged reports appear only when enabled for your account.

Reports always run against your currently selected properties and the report criteria already set for your session (such as period, as-of date, chart of accounts, and books). Confirm property selection before opening or downloading a report.

When you select an external Chart of Accounts and your property selection includes assets on a different COA, the report only includes ledger entries mapped to the selected COA. Credence shows a warning on the report so you know some entries for the selected assets are omitted. Choose the Credence COA, or narrow property selection to assets that share the same COA, to include all relevant entries.

Budget vs Actuals

Budget vs Actuals compares posted income-statement amounts to each selected property's primary budget for the report periods.

Use the Credence COA to consolidate properties that sit on different charts of accounts. Credence rolls both actuals and budget lines up by each account's mapping to the Credence chart. Two property accounts that map to the same Credence account appear as one row. Accounts that are not mapped to a Credence account are omitted from the Credence COA view.

Each property must have a primary budget, and those budgets must share the same start and end periods. If any selected property does not have a primary budget, Credence lists those properties as Properties missing budgets and shows an empty comparison rather than mixing budgeted and unbudgeted assets. If a primary budget does not cover the selected report periods, Credence also shows an empty comparison rather than a partial one.

Downloading a Single Report

Many reports support a direct Excel download from the report page or from the download control on the dashboard card.

  • Excel downloads use your current property selection and report criteria.
  • Some report pages also offer CSV or PDF export.
  • PDF export captures what is currently shown on screen. If the report is paginated or filtered, only visible rows are included.

Downloading Multiple Reports (Excel Packet)

On the Reports Dashboard, you can select several downloadable reports and generate one Excel workbook with a worksheet for each report.

How to start a packet

  1. Select the reports you want. You can select individual cards or click a section heading to select all downloadable reports in that section.
  2. Choose Download Excel packet from the action bar.
  3. Credence builds the packet in the background so you are not blocked by a long wait.

While the packet is generating

You can keep working elsewhere in Credence. Leaving the Reports Dashboard does not cancel the packet.

When the packet is ready, Credence creates a notification such as Report packet ready. Open the notification and click it to download the file. Report packet alerts stay on for the requesting user; see Notification Preferences.

If you stay on the dashboard, the action bar also shows progress and starts the download when generation finishes.

What to expect in the file

  • One Excel workbook
  • One worksheet per successfully generated report (reports that export multiple tabs, such as Liquidity, keep each tab in the packet)
  • Report criteria and property selection captured when you started the packet

If an individual report cannot be generated, Credence skips it and still delivers the rest. The notification (and the on-page status, if you stayed on the dashboard) notes which reports were skipped.

Availability

Packet downloads remain available for one hour. After that, regenerate the packet from the dashboard. Once you download the file, the ready notification is cleared.

If every selected report fails, Credence sends a failure notification instead of a download link.
